MB&F will close the chapter on the Legacy Machine No. 1 watch with the 2017 MB&F LM1 Final Edition. It feels like a long time ago that MB&F introduced the then rather disruptive LM1 watch (here in 2011). That year marked a major shift for the brand as they transitioned from being exclusively about “Horological Machine” watches set in modern times to also including “Legacy Machine” watches inspired by more classic themes. Since then, MB&F has also diversified by including many clocks into their product portfolio, as well more generally the MB&F MAD Gallery stores now open in at least three cities around the world.

While the MB&F LM1 watch was controversial when it was released, for many people it was “the first MB&F I want to wear.” This makes sense since the MB&F LM1, with its elegant dial and round case, was actually the most traditional MB&F ever made. Zehn Jahre + danach: Mein Seiko 5

Aus meiner Sammlung ist diese Seiko 5, eine erschwingliche Automatikuhr und jetzt mehr als 12 Jahre alt, ref. SKWX55K, mit einem cal. 7S26 Bewegung, und zwar Seiko 5 7s26-8760 (erste Reihe von Zahlen (und ein Buchstabe) steht für das Kaliber Bewegung, die zweite bezeichnet Fallmodifikation).




Ich habe es Anfang 2002 hier in Moskau persönlich gekauft und es kostete mich 1.590 RUB, was ungefähr 50 US $ entspricht.




Es wurde verkauft ohne eine Schachtel oder irgendwas nur eine kleine durchsichtige Plastiktüte, aber es gab ein Seiko-Handbuch und ein Etikett mit der Ref-Nummer und der Kaliberbezeichnung, wie Sie unten sehen können.



Ein Edelstahlgehäuse. Aus Neugierde habe ich im Internet gesucht, ob ich die Uhr finde. Nun, ich habe viele ähnliche Uhren gefunden, aber nicht ganz dasselbe . Aber dann im Jahr 2009 verkaufte jemand in Belgien die gleiche Uhr , aber mit einem weißen Zifferblatt und in einem Zustand, der für 100 US-Dollar viel schlimmer als meins war.



Auch auf Rakuten ein anderes Seiko 5 7s26-8760 mit dem gleichen Uhrengehäuse (zu dem die Nummer 8760 attestiert), aber mit einem anderen Zifferblatt und Markierungen und minus das Armband wurde für 120 US $ verkauft , mit dem Armband nicht original, jemand geklaut Armband.
Bedeutet das, dass ich meine Uhr 2002 für 50 US-Dollar gekauft habe und jetzt - 12 Jahre später - sie von 100 US-Dollar auf 120 US-Dollar verkaufen kann?

Was kannst du über das Kaliber 7s26 sagen? Die Bewegung ist sehr populär, streng gemeint - weit verbreitet, weil Seiko sie in viele ihrer Uhrenmodelle einfügte und anscheinend auch weiterhin tut, obwohl es bereits einen Ersatz gibt. Und es wurde nicht nur in billigeren Seiko 5s, sondern auch in eher teureren echten Taucheruhren wie dem Seiko Monster verwendet.


Es ist ein automatisches Uhrwerk, das sich aus der Bewegung Ihrer Hand windet, das Autowind-Modul ist sehr zuverlässig und einfach - besteht nur aus drei Teilen. Aber es gibt keine Handbewegung. Das Fehlen des Handaufzugs macht dieses Uhrwerk zu einem der billigsten, insbesondere unter Berücksichtigung seiner automatischen Fließbandproduktion. Das Fehlen der Handaufzugsfunktion öffnet Seiko jedoch den Vorwurf exzessiver Billigkeit. Diese Uhr wird nicht jedem passen. Wie es mir passiert ist. Ich trage keine Uhren 10-12 Stunden pro Tag an jedem einzelnen Tag der Woche. So konnte der Autowind die Macht nicht aufrechterhalten. Auch der Mangel an Handwind wird wahrscheinlich nicht von denjenigen geschätzt werden, die mehrere tragbare Uhren haben und sie drehen, wie ich es auch tue. Aus diesem Grund habe ich diese Uhr nicht viel getragen und sie verbrachte mehr als 10 Jahre in meinem Schreibtisch.

Dieses Kaliber 7s26 hat auch keine Hack-Funktion, aber Sie können es mit einem so genannten Back-Hack (oder einem Hack eines armen Mannes) gut imitieren, Sie müssen nur ein wenig Druck auf die Aufzugskrone ausüben, während sie in der Hand ist Position, umgekehrt zur Bewegung der Hände. The coated brass case has been replaced with the more modern stainless steel, and the case back is thankfully solid and without an exhibition window. Whilst Oris could defiantly have added one this would have significantly inflated the price and is really not required on a practical dive watch.



The case size has been increased to a modest 40mm diameter, any larger and they risked stretching out the original design too thin. The plexiglass crystal from the mid 60’s has also been updated to a more modern sapphire crystalwith a strong double dome and anti-reflective coatings. The crystals unusual uniqueness really sets this watch apart from other similar watches in the diving watch market today, and really gives the Oris this great charm that is hard to replicate. The bi-directional bezel has been changed into a unidirectional and has an aluminium bezel insert added to it.



The white date wheel with black text at the three o’clock mark from the original 1965 divers, has been moved to just above the six marker. This I personally see as a good move as it gives a cleaner dial and adds to a more refined appearance.

The charismatic box numerals at the 3, 6, 9 and 12 each remain intact and the colourisation is remarkably similar to the original. Oris uses a SuperLuminova luminescent fill called “Light Old Radium” that has a pleasingly old-looking appearance that emulates the original well.

The movement used inside is an Oris Calibre 733 which allows hacking, quick-setting the date, and hand-winding. With a modest power reserve of approximately 38 hours.
